It’s that time of year when we’re looking for any reason to get the kids out of the house, even for just a few hours. Taking them to the Progressive Atlantic City Boat Show, running February 26 through March 1, is a great, fun way to spend the day.

Kids have a blast seeing all the different boats and exploring them with their parents (when you’re in and around the boats, be sure to keep them close to keep them safe). The show staff has also packed the event with cool boating and fishing activities kids will love:
BUILD-A-BOAT—KIDS’ TOY BOAT BUILDING
If they can imagine it, they can build it! Little skippers will have boatloads of fun creating one-of-a kind nautical masterpieces to take home as a show souvenir. [Space P12]

FIN-ATICS SUP DEMO POOL
Experience the world of paddlesports, courtesy of Fin-atics Marine Supply of Ocean City, NJ. Watch Fin-atics expert staff perform demonstrations or better yet, try it yourself. BOATING SKILLS VIRTUAL TRAINER
Take the helm and set out on a simulated ”boat trip” to practice boating skills such as docking, pivot turns, stopping and more. The America’s Boating Club Boating Skills Virtual Trainer gives you a hands-on experience piloting your virtual boat on a lake. [Booth 846]
VIRTUAL FISHING SIMULATOR
Feel the strike! Watch the rod bend! Experience the pull as your fish runs for the bottom! This interactive fishing simulator is as "reel" as it gets without getting your line wet. In partnership with Progressive Insurance and the Annapolis School of Seamanship. Kids can show off their docking technique in the pool with RC boats, or take a spin in a Virtual Reality boating experience (with a parent’s on-site permission). While they’re boating, chat with a Progressive Insurance expert to learn about boating coverage or get a free quote.
